Charles Leclerc has labelled stability within Ferrari as a "very
important" element for success going forward. After a period of
speculation over his future, team principal Fred Vasseur recently
penned a new multi-year agreement to remain in the day-to-day
leadership role at Ferrari. The Frenchman has been in the position
since the start of the 2023 campaign and led a successful 2024
season that saw Ferrari narrowly miss out on its first
constructors' championship since 2008. As Ferrari continues to
search for an end to its title drought, Leclerc asserted a change
in leadership would not have been the right direction for the team.
"I'm not the one making the decisions, but I think stability is
always very important," Leclerc told media including RacingNews365
. "Fred is the person we look up to and the person leading the
team." Ferrari is seeking to enter the sport's new era under fresh
technical regulations next year in title contention. Leclerc, who
is in his seventh season racing for Ferrari, hailed Vasseur as the
right figure to lead the team going forward as it hopes to add to
its title tally. "To have him for many more years is definitely a
good thing, also because in Formula 1 it takes time to build
something, especially a successful team," he added. "I'm very happy
about that. "Knowing that I'll be able to have Fred alongside me
for more years makes me optimistic for the future."
