Alpine has confirmed that Pierre Gasly is to start the Italian
Grand Prix from the pit-lane following a power unit change. The
Frenchman, who signed a new contract on Saturday, keeping him with
the team until 2028, had qualified 19th of 20 cars at Monza, with
the track not expected to suit the package owing to the straight
line speed deficits it has. As such, Alpine has elected to take a
brand-new power unit aboard Gasly's A525, triggering an automatic
pit-lane start under F1's sporting regulations. Gasly is the
second of two drivers who will be in the pit-lane, after Isack
Hadjar confirmed he was taking a complete new power unit in his
Racing Bulls car after also being eliminated in Q1. The complete
