Renault has announced the appointment of new CEO François Provost.
Provost takes over from Luca De Meo, who announced last month that
he was stepping down from his leading position. The Frenchman steps
up to the post having most recently served as the company's
director of purchasing and institutional relations. "It is with
pride and gratitude that I welcome my appointment. I would like to
warmly thank my President, Jean-Dominique Senard, and the Board of
Directors for the trust they have placed in me. I have a special
thought for the teams across the Group who have supported me
throughout these past 23 years. "I will dedicate all my energy and
passion to contributing – alongside our 100,000 employees, our
dealers, suppliers, and partners – to the development of our Group,
one of the flagships of French industry for the past 127 years."
Renault has an active hand in F1, fielding the Alpine team that
uses its own Renault-built power units. However, there has been
recent speculation over the company's involvement in F1 amid the
departure of De Meo. Last year, it pulled the plug on its power
unit development programme for the 2026 season when fresh
regulations will come into play. The team will subsequently take on
Mercedes power units for the sport's new era, which is now set to
begin under the guidance of Provost.
