A close ally of Sergio Perez has highlighted a personal change that
could signal the Mexican's intent to return to the F1 grid. Perez
departed the field at the end of the 2024 campaign following a
difficult campaign with Red Bull. The 35-year-old has insisted he
is interested in a return to the field, but only if it is with a
project he believes can be successful. Cadillac has listed Perez as
a major candidate for one of its drives next season when it joins
the grid as an 11th team. Xavi Martos, a fitness trainer who has
long worked with Perez, called attention to the work the six-time
race winner is doing behind the scenes. "I watch as a spectator,
but people have never talked about this," Martos told Duralavita .
"Sergio has a new manager, I don't know if you've heard. He used to
work with Julian Jakobi, but now he has someone else. Perez is said
to have teamed up with Khalil Beschir, who has experience as a
former driver, but now focuses on managing drivers. "I think that
answers all the questions," Martos added. "If you wanted to stop
racing, you don't take on a new manager. At least that wouldn't
have occurred to me."
