The Cadillac F1 team have taken to social media to promote a major
announcement during the upcoming Miami Grand Prix weekend. The
American squad is preparing to enter the sport as an 11th team,
expanding the grid to 22 cars for the first time since 2016.
Cadillac began its route to F1 as a project led by Michael
Andretti, but the scheme gained more traction when General Motors
rose to the forefront of management. This weekend marks the first
of three rounds scheduled in the United States of America, with
Miami hosting the sixth round of the world championship. Cadillac
is seemingly using the event to make a considerable announcement,
which is set to be made on Saturday. The team gave no indication of
what the declaration could be, however it is yet to confirm either
of its drivers for next year's campaign. It has often voiced its
desire to field a veteran driver to help its initial F1
development, with former Red Bull and Force India driver Sergio
Perez labelled as a front-runner for the drive. See Cadillac's
teaser post below.
