Charles Leclerc has hinted he regrets his expletive-laden radio
message during the British Grand Prix weekend. After qualifying
only sixth at Silverstone, Leclerc launched into the X-rated rant,
which was not broadcast on the world feed. In it, the Ferrari
driver exclaimed, following a run of f words, that: 'so f*cking
shit I am. I am so f*cking sh*t, that is all I am." Questioned
about the message following a disappointing British GP where he
gambled on slicks on the formation lap before having a messy race
to 14th, Leclerc signalled his regret over the message. "I've had
my moments on the radio, and I think it is probably very funny from
the outside," Leclerc told the media, including RacingNews365. 'But
for me, frustrations run high and especially when you are
passionate and want to do well, sometimes you regret things you say
on the radio. "But that is the way it is in the heat of the moment,
[and in the race], I did not maximise the package. "Very often on
Saturdays, I feel like we leave something on the table, and coming
off a Sunday, we always put everything together, but I left points
on the table, and that is not nice. "Everybody is pushing very hard
to try and give us upgrades as soon as possible, and if they come,
I hope we can make a significant step."
