Jerome D'Ambrosio will take charge of Ferrari for the Austrian
Grand Prix. For the first time since Fred Vasseur took charge of
the Scuderia at the start of 2023, the Frenchman will not be on the
pit wall for an F1 race. A Ferrari spokesperson has confirmed that
Vasseur "will not be at the track today because he has had to
return home for personal reasons." D'Ambrosio will stand in for
Vasseur and oversee a Ferrari team in with a strong position of
scoring a good result with drivers Charles Leclerc and Lewis
Hamilton starting from second and fourth on the grid. For Hamilton,
it is his best grid slot since joining the team at the start of the
year, with his previous best qualifying performances fifth in
China, Spain and Canada. It is also his highest starting position
since last year's Singapore Grand Prix. It is unknown at this stage
whether Vasseur will be available for next weekend's British Grand
Prix at Silverstone.
