Isack Hadjar has confirmed he is to take power unit penalties and
will start the Italian Grand Prix from the pit-lane. The Racing
Bulls driver was 16th in Q1 at Monza, and the first driver
eliminated after frustrations with Carlos Sainz on his final
out-lap, but confirmed when questioned by RacingNews365 that he was
to start from the pit-lane. "Yeah, [we are] changing everything,"
Hadjar explained. "That's why going into qualifying, I like having
pressure, but going into qualifying, this was just wrong." Under F1
rules, a complete power unit change requires a start from the
pit-lane. As for the incident on his out-lap with Sainz, Hadjar was
at a loss to explain what Sainz had done. "He was just super
annoying on the out-lap, he was not going to push," he added of the
Williams driver. "So I don't know why he was fighting so hard for
track position, and then just let me by on my lap, so I compromised
the out-lap for nothing, and then I made a mistake. "But honestly,
it doesn't matter as I am starting last."
