Liam Lawson and Fernando Alonso are among the biggest winners in
the second of RacingNews365's quarterly analysis of driver ratings.
After every grand prix, one of the team will score each of the 20
drivers from a score of 1-10 for their performances throughout the
weekend, taking into account practice, qualifying, and the race.
Over the course of the season, these scores are kept track of, and
with 24 grands prix in the season, it allows for reviews after six,
12, and 18 races, with the recent British GP at Silverstone being
round 12, so the halfway mark of the season. From the six races at
Imola, in Monaco, Spain, Canada, Austria, and Britain, the biggest
climber was actually Aston Martin's Alonso, up 1.1 points on
average, including a best score of eight in Monaco, Canada, and
Austria. As for Lawson, he scored the best result in 49 years for
a New Zealander with sixth in Austria, as he took a season-best of
9.5. This boosted his score overall to 5.6 from the 4.9 it was
after Miami. The rise of 0.7 was also replicated by Nico
Hulkenberg, who at long last scored his first podium, with third at
Silverstone. On the flip side, Yuki Tsunoda and Kimi Antonelli have
both collapsed in the ratings, losing 1.4 points. For Antonelli,
this is not entirely his fault, and he was rescued by a podium in
Canada, but Tsunoda's form has alarmingly fallen away, with his
only point in this run of six races being a 10th at Imola, the day
after destroying the car in a qualifying accident, where he
flipped. NOTE: The season average below reflects the new scores
each driver has after round 12, with the changes being in total.
For example, Oscar Piastri's change of -0.4 to 8.2 means his score
from the first six races was 8.6 and so on. 2025 F1 driver rating -
