New Red Bull team principal Laurent Mekies has vowed to "discover
the magic" after replacing Christian Horner. Horner was sacked on
Wednesday, bringing to an end his 20-year spell at the helm of Red
Bull, with Racing Bulls boss Mekies promoted to also fill Horner's
CEO duties. On his first full day in the job on Thursday, Mekies
headed to Silverstone, where Red Bull was already conducting a
pre-planned filming day to meet team members trackside for the
first time. Whilst there, former Ferrari and FIA senior figure
Mekies vowed to discover the 'Red Bull magic.' "It's in the Red
Bull spirit, in the Red Bull DNA, in the way we go about things
with a smile, with high risk taking, but we do not forget who we
are," Mekies explained. "We have the best job in the world, and we
will go about it with the utmost desire to win, but also with a
smile and the energy of Red Bull. There is only one next step. "I
just can't wait to meet as many people as possible, from this
incredible team. You want to discover the magic. "I want to meet
the guys and the girls that are doing the magic behind the scenes,
and that's what the next few weeks will be dedicated to, to try to
meet as many of our people as possible, to listen to them. "To try
