Mark Blundell has been disqualified from driving for six months after being clocked at 96mph in a 70mph zone on November 30 last year. The former Brabham, Tyrrell, Ligier and McLaren driver did not attend the Northamptonshire Magistrates’ Court hearing; a guilty plea was entered on his behalf by counsel.
The outcome
Blundell received a six-month ban, five points on his licence and financial penalties totalling £1,042 in fines, costs and surcharge.
Career background
The 59-year-old scored three podiums in 61 F1 starts and won the 1992 Le Mans 24 Hours with Peugeot alongside Derek Warwick and Yannick Dalmas. Since 2004, he has run the 2MB sports management company, initially alongside long-time friend Martin Brundle.
