RUMORS, GOSSIP & UNFOUNDED TRUTHS: SUPERCROSS-ONLY CONTRACTS ARE MAKING A COMEBACK

• 2022 YAMAHA YZ450F “FIRST RIDE” VIDEO VIEWS BY MEDIA These are YouTube’s official number of viewers for MXA, Dirt Bike, SwapMoto, Vital and RacerX videos. • COOPER WEBB RE-SIGNS WITH RED BULL KTM FOR THE 2023 Cooper will race the Paris Supercross, along with Eli Tomac and the Lawrence brothers, to launch their 2023 AMA Supercross efforts. The Paris Supercross will be held on November 12-13. Two-time 450 Supercross Champion Cooper Webb, who is not racing the 450 Natioanls, has put pen to paper, inking a deal with the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team that extends through the 2023 race season. But between the lines it is obvious that it is a Supercross-Only contract. Webb’s extended contract also includes the option to head outdoors for the AMA Pro Motocross Championship. Entering his fifth season with the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team in 2023, the North Carolina native has achieved great success aboard the KTM 450SXF and the team looks forward to building on that success in future seasons. Cooper Webb said, “I am excited to continue my relationship with the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team and I’m really looking forward to going after a third AMA 450 Supercross Championship together next season!” • MAX ANSTIE TO MAKE FIRE POWER HONDA DEBUT AT RED BUD Max Anstie will be a red—at least for three races. Confirming their commitment to chasing success at the very highest level, Fire Power Honda has signed Max Anstie in a deal that is effective immediately. Anstie is set to make his debut in ‘red’ at the fifth round of 2022 Pro Motocross on July 02. Anstie has a limited deal with Fire Power, as he is only guaranteed three races (Red Bud, Southwick and Millville). He hopes to race the 2022 Motocross des Nations for Team Great Britain (if chosen) on September 25 at Red Bud. Fire Power Honda says they will make announcements about additional signings to the team for the 2023 in the coming weeks. Max Anstie said: “Being competitive is always my priority and I know that Fire Power Honda can give me what I need to chase my goals in the USA. The first month with the team has been great and I cannot wait to get behind the gate at Red Bud. It will be a great opportunity to show just how much work we have done!” • “THIS WEEK IN MXA” WITH JOSH MOSIMAN: THE TRACK MARKERS BITE BACK • MXA PRODUCT SPOTLIGHT: FXR RACING 2022.5 PODIUM PRO GEAR FXR Racing has a passion for purpose-built products, and the 2022.5 Podium Pro gear is no exception.
