Audi has announced it has struck a deal with major clothing brand
adidas as it prepares to make its F1 debut. Audi will join the grid
next year, taking over the Sauber-run Stake squad. The German
manufacturer has announced a handful of partners in recent weeks,
including title sponsor Revolut. It has now confirmed a multi-year
agreement with Adidas, who is now its official apparel partner.
"This partnership brings together two iconic brands – the four
rings and the three stripes – on a global stage and it represents a
bold step forward in our journey to the grid as the Audi F1 Team,"
said team principal Jonathan Wheatley. "With adidas, we're
equipping our people with elite technical sporting gear that
enhances performance where it matters most. "Beyond racing, we
share a commitment to making an impact off the track through
innovation, style and a relentless pursuit of excellence.
"Together, we will create bold brand activations and groundbreaking
experiences." Adidas already has an existing partnership in F1 with
the Mercedes team, which commenced at the start of this year. Audi
will enter the sport's new era with its driver line-up of Nico
Hulkenberg and Gabriel Bortoleto. The project is being overseen by
former Ferrari team principal Mattia Binotto, with Wheatley running
the day-to-day operations at the squad.
