Breaking: Pierre Gasly signs fresh contract to decide F1 future

Pierre Gasly has signed a new long-term Alpine contract, committing him to the team until 2028.  Gasly joined Alpine from what was then AlphaTauri for the 2023 season, and became team leader this season after the departure of Esteban Ocon to Haas. The one-time grand prix winner has scored all of Alpine's 20 points this season, as Jack Doohan and Franco Colapinto have struggled in the second car.  More to follow.
