For the 17th straight season, F1 is to enjoy a sunny and dry
Italian Grand Prix as the sun beats down on Monza. Not since
Sebastian Vettel's iconic 2008 win has an Italian GP been run in
the wet, and that run is set to extend to 2026 at least thanks to a
favourable forecast for Monza. As of 11:15 CET, the forecast is for
27-28 degrees Celsius temperatures, keeping in line with what has
been experienced throughout the weekend. In terms of the wind for
the 53-lap race, it is set to be light and from the south, which is
not ideal for overtaking. The pit-straight at Monza runs north,
with the winds expected to give the field a tailwind down into the
heavy braking zone of Turn 1, when a headwind is more conducive to
producing overtaking. On the flip side, it does mean there will be
a headwind under braking for Parabolica. The race starts at 15:00
CET, 14:00 BST, with Max Verstappen on pole from Lando Norris,
Oscar Piastri and the lead Ferrari of Charles Leclerc in fourth.
