Liam Lawson has revealed how he and Racing Bulls team-mate Isack Hadjar opted for a complete split in set-ups ahead of the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix. Lawson, who remains point-less as F1 heads back to Europe, placed 15th in both free practice sessions on Friday at Imola, with team-mate Hadjar 19th and seventh, respectively in the two sessions.  Reflecting on the split between the two, Kiwi Lawson explained how "different directions" was key to the team's running at its de facto home track. "I think, honestly, FP1 wasn't too bad," said Lawson. "In general, we knew we had some work to do, so we tried some stuff for FP2.  "We both went sort of in different directions to find out and get a good idea with the car. And I think we definitely did that, which is positive. So we'll work on applying that for us tomorrow." "Obviously, we're pushing for [Q3]. I think it's hard to tell at this stage. It's very close.  "Everybody's still improving and and we obviously made a big step on the other side of the garage. So hopefully we can both apply that tomorrow and then take that step even further."
