Max Verstappen has been backed to follow Christian Horner out of
Red Bull this year. F1 fans believe Horner's sacking last week as
team principal and CEO will have little impact on Verstappen's next
move. One of the suggestions in the wake of Horner's exit is that
with the Briton no longer with the team, the Verstappen family,
including Max's father Jos, would now be keen to remain with Red
Bull. Last year, Jos Verstappen demanded Horner be removed from his
position after a female employee accused him of inappropriate
conduct, claiming the team was "in danger of being torn apart" if
he remained in charge. An internal and external investigation later
cleared Horner, following which an uneasy alliance then existed
between Jos Verstappen and Horner. But in our poll, in which we
asked, 'Does Christian Horner's departure mean Max Verstappen will
stay at Red Bull?' just under 10 per cent believe Verstappen will
remain loyal to the team and see out his contract through to the
end of 2028, even though Horner has gone. Instead, the overwhelming
majority of fans - just over 61 per cent - agreed with the
statement that Horner's sacking will make no difference to
Verstappen, who will leave this year if the clauses in his contract
allow. Just under 21 per cent feel that Verstappen will stay with
Red Bull for 2026, when the new regulatory era kicks in, but will
leave for 2027. The remainder of 8.63 per cent was from fans who
were unsure. Thanks to everyone who voted!
