Max Verstappen has voiced his approval to see Sebastian Vettel
return to Red Bull in a non-driving role. Vettel has a long and
successful history with the Red Bull squad, winning four F1 titles
with it from 2010 to 2013. The German retired from F1 at the end of
the 2022 campaign but recently confirmed he held talks with Red
Bull advisor Helmut Marko about a return to the Milton Keynes-based
outfit. While a role was not specified, Vettel has been tipped by
F1 fans as an ideal replacement for Marko , who heads Red Bull's
junior driver programme. Verstappen admitted he is keen on the idea
of Vettel reuniting with his former team. "I mean, it's more than
normal that someone that has achieved so much with Red Bull, has
been brought up by Red Bull, that, in a sense, there's always a
spot available," the Dutchman said. "I think also, Seb always kept
a really good relationship with Helmut anyway, even when he left.
"So, I didn't know that they were talking, but I'm sure that
there's always a space for Seb in any kind of form." Vettel has
largely been disassociated with F1 since his retirement, travelling
to very few races since hanging up his helmet. Earlier this year,
Marko labelled Vettel as his "ideal successor" at Red Bull.
