2022 Honda CR-V price and specs: Two new special editions added
Honda’s familiar CR-V family SUV has received two new special editions in the middle of the range, as the current model enters its final year on sale. 2022 Honda CR-V pricing and specificationsBlack Edition adds darkened styling elements, more kitVTi 7 +Luxe model scores heated leather seats, driver power adjustmentPriced from $35,600 drive-away The 2022 Honda CR-V has gained two new special editions, as Honda prepares to unveil an all-new model in the coming weeks. Available to pre-order now, ahead of first Honda showroom arrivals in the coming weeks, the first of the editions is the CR-V Black Edition, which adds an array of extras from higher-spec VTi X, VTi L AWD, VTi L7 or VTi LX AWD grades, plus a blacked-out look. These include 18-inch wheels, LED headlights, heated leather seats and the LaneWatch camera – joining black, dark chrome or dark wood finishes for almost all interior and exterior accents, from the wheels and mirrors to the plastic around the infotainment screen. Prices for the Black Edition start from $44,600 drive-away, just under $6000 more the VTi five-seat variant it’s based on. A full list of additions is included towards the bottom of this story. Meanwhile, the CR-V VTi 7 +Luxe commands a $3000 premium over the VTi 7 variant it’s based on, and scores leather upholstery, a power driver’s seat and heated front seats – all usually exclusive to the VTi L7 and up. It’s only available five (rather than eight) exterior colours – Ignite Red, Cosmic Blue, Lunar Silver, Meteoroid Grey and Platinum White – and, given it’s based on the VTi 7, doesn’t get the VTi L7’s sunroof, LED headlights, wireless phone charging, or other features. Both variants – along with all other variants, excluding the Vi – are powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine, sending 140kW and 240Nm to the front or all four wheels through a continuously-variable automatic transmission (CVT). Meanwhile, the base Vi uses a 2.0-litre non-turbo four-cylinder petrol engine offering 113kW and 189Nm, powering the front wheels through a CVT. The base CR-V Vi is also the only variant without autonomous emergency braking, lane-keep assist and adaptive cruise control – features fitted as standard across the line-ups of nearly all of its rivals (though the base Honda is slightly cheaper). To view all the features available across the CR-V range, see the lists at the bottom of this story. Prices have risen across the range by a few hundred dollars since Honda adopted fixed drive-away pricing in July 2021.
