The Spielberg area of Austria has been hit with a "severe" weather warning ahead of this weekend's grand prix at the Red Bull Ring.  Forecasts prior to the weekend were for clear, hot weather with the chance of showers overnight into Saturday, but on Thursday at media day, Liam Lawson's session was interrupted by a "severe" warning by authorities.  In place from 1400 local to midnight, the message warned that: 'Risk of strong winds with velocity up to 100kph (62 mph), local flooding, collapsing trees, hail and lightning strikes.  "Avoid parks and forest areas as well as riverbanks and secure all loose items like tents and sun shades on campgrounds. Observe the local weather development, and prepare for sudden weather changes." The message was transmitted by the State Warning and Alarming Centre for Stryia.  According to BBC Weather, there is now a chance of rain impacting the end of Friday's second free practice session, although Saturday and Sunday are expected to be dry.
