Dirt racer Bob Gardner of the MARS Late Model Championship has come
under considerable criticism after seeing red during a race in the
United States, using his car as a weapon in retaliation for a move
made by a rival. The highly controversial moment of madness saw him
use his car to flip the car of competitor Daryn Klein, after
deliberately driving down the main straight in the wrong direction.
The incident saw him black-flagged from the event, but fans of the
series have called for more severe punishment, ranging from a
year-long suspension to a permanent ban to legal consequences. At
the start of the clip (shown below), Gardner and Klein come
together, as the former is pinched at the edge of the circuit,
sending him careering across the track into the side of Dylan
Thornton, who was T-boned. It is following this first initial
incident that Gardner seeks to take matters into his own hands,
driving against the flow of traffic as the caution flag was
immediately thrown. The field made its way past the number 4 car of
Gardner, who was waiting for the number 10 of Klien. He eventually
cut across the infield section of the circuit to reach his target,
driving alongside before his actions, which sparked widespread
outrage on social media. Further punishments have yet to be
confirmed, but Gardner was instantly hauled from the event. "No. 4
team, you are done for the night," the announcer said over the
circuit PA system. See the full incident below! 1946381099757711838
