Carlos Sainz has become the fourth F1 driver to be consigned to a
pit-lane start in the Belgian Grand Prix. Due to start 15th, Sainz
has been relegated to a pit-lane start following Williams' decision
to change the mechanical and aerodynamic set-up of his FW47. This
is in anticipation of the expected wet conditions at Spa, with
heavy rain forcing the cancellation of the F3 race, with the F2 one
taking place in heavy rain. Sainz joins Lewis Hamilton, Fernando
Alonso, and Kimi Antonelli in the pit-lane, the other three all
taking engine penalties. Hamilton has also changed the suspension
set-up of his car outside of parc ferme regulations, which would
have triggered the pit-lane start had the engine penalties not been
taken. For the full adjusted starting grid, click here!
