Helmut Marko strikes 'fatal' Red Bull F1 title warning

Red Bull motorsport advisor Helmut Marko has delivered his outfit a striking warning, that it would be "fatal" to give up on winning both F1 titles this season. It has been a difficult start to the campaign for the Milton Keynes-based team, who have looked strong only on one side of the garage. Max Verstappen has claimed pole position in 50% of the grands prix this year, whilst he also secured victory in the Japanese Grand Prix. However, the second Red Bull seat has been a problem once again, with first Liam Lawson and now Yuki Tsunoda struggling to compete with Verstappen. Its package, the RB21, has also proven to be a handful, with its operating window being extremely small. "Difficult is a good word," Marko told BILD, explaining Red Bull's season so far. "We are in a difficult situation. The working window for our car is extremely small. "When everything goes well, we are fast and win, like in Japan, but a week later in Bahrain we are in no man's land. Our car is like a grab bag." Red Bull title hopes Verstappen finds himself third in the F1 drivers' title and 32 points adrift of Oscar Piastri, whilst Red Bull is 141 points behind McLaren. Already, it is a large margin to recover for the Austrian outfit, who have a car which performs solely based on the type of circuit. Despite the team's current problems, Marko is insistent that Red Bull cannot give up yet. "It depends on the profile of the track," added Marko. "We are mainly struggling with the balance of our car. Mercedes and Ferrari also have problems. Only McLaren is good in all conditions. We are third in the championship standings. "Nothing is lost yet. We still have every chance of winning both world titles. It would be fatal if we gave up just because things are not going according to plan at the moment."
