Lando Norris has been handed a crushing verdict by Formula 1 fans,
the majority of which do not believe he is an F1 world
champion-calibre driver. The Briton finds himself in a title fight
this season with McLaren team-mate Oscar Piastri, who has a
22-point advantage over Norris. However, Norris has often been
quicker than Piastri. What has cost the 25-year-old this season is
an array of mistakes, as recently as the Canadian Grand Prix.
Norris crashed into Piastri in the closing laps at the Circuit
Gilles Villeneuve, resulting in McLaren's first intra-team
collision in several years. Many pundits and former drivers have
highlighted Norris' mental weakness and self-critical nature as two
factors which are stopping him from becoming a world champion. In a
recent RacingNews365 poll, a staggering 44.3% of voters do not view
Norris as an F1 champion-calibre driver, whilst only 25.4% do. To
add to Norris' woes, just 7.3% believe that whilst Norris become an
F1 champion-calibre driver in the future. Check out the full poll
