Lando Norris rues 'not good enough' performance in Miami Sprint qualifying

Lando Norris has described his near-miss in Miami Grand Prix Sprint qualifying "as not good enough" after being pipped by a tenth for pole. Norris qualified third fastest for the Sprint in Florida, exactly 0.100s slower than pole-sitter Kimi Antonelli and 0.055s slower than team-mate Oscar Piastri. It means Piastri now leads the season head-to-head 5-2 across all sprint and races, with Norris last qualifying ahead in Japan. Whilst Norris felt he showed improved performance in the session, he still felt it was "not good enough." "It was good, a close qualifying, and just happy to get a good lap in there, it was close, so not much more I could ask for," he reflected. "Of course, there are a lot of good memories here, but at the same time, it doesn't matter, it is in the past and I'm concentrating on this weekend and today's performance, which I think was in the ball park. "Obviously, it was not good enough, but it shows how close it is, shows how quick the Mercedes are and both of us are behind. "There is a bit of a job to do for the Sprint race, but we are close enough to still aim for pole [in grand prix qualifying]."
