Max Verstappen has jumped behind the wheel of a Ferrari GT3 car at the Nurburgring as part of an official test. Fresh from his difficult outing at the Miami Grand Prix where he crossed the line in fourth place, Verstappen flew back to Europe and to the Nurburgring track. The test at the German circuit is being held ahead of the third round of the NLS endurance category, which features GT3 machinery. Verstappen has a hand in GT3 competition as he fields his own team in the GT World Challenge. The Dutchman is also no stranger to getting behind the wheel of endurance cars, having had a series of outings in the past - but often in private. On this occasion, Verstappen's appearance has come at a public test. Verstappen has long flirted with the possibility of taking to endurance racing following the end of his F1 career. He often takes part in endurance races on iRacing with Team Redline. The Nurburgring test was supposed to remain a secret as Verstappen's car bore the pseudonym 'Franz Hermann'. Auto Motor und Sport reports Verstappen simply wished to enjoy a handful of laps around the Nurburgring in peace. He also had his own security guards present during the test session and photographers were not allowed inside the garage.
