McLaren junior Alex Dunne has lost his Belgian Grand Prix Formula 2 feature race victory after receiving a 10-second post-race time penalty. The Irishman won at Spa in the rain to move to the top of the drivers' standings on a weekend neither leader Richard Verschoor nor second-placed Jak Crawford scored any points.  However, Dunne was investigated for allegedly breaching Article 1.6.1 of the technical regulations and Article 11.15 of the user manual.  That relates to not engaging the start set-up procedure at the beginning of the formation lap.  Dunne did not engage the system, with the team manager of Rodin Motorsport explaining that as race control had decided the formation lap would be behind the safety car and with a rolling start, the system was not engaged, on the team's advice. After an extensive deliberation, the stewards found Dunne had breached the regulations, and handed him a 10-second time penalty.  This drops him down to 10th in the final classification from the win, losing 25 points for one. He is down to fourth in the standings on 113 points, with Leonardo Fornaroli now the leader on 123 points, with Verschoor on 122, and Crawford on 116. Arvid Lindblad has been declared as the winner, with the 25 points bringing him back into title contention on 109 points, 14 behind Fornaroli, with Luke Browning's new fourth place moving him to 110 points. It means the top five in the standings - Fornaroli, Verschoor, Crawford, Dunne, Browning, and Lindblad are separated by 14 points.
