Mercedes F1 reserve driver Frederik Vesti has been handed a seat in
Formula E's upcoming rookie test in Berlin, where he will drive for
Andretti. The Danish driver made his debut in the all-electric
series for Mahindra in last season's rookie test at the Tempelhof
Airport Circuit, but will instead be representing the American
outfit in a fortnight. He will be partnered by current Formula 2
driver, Aston Martin development driver and Andretti FE reserve Jak
Crawford. Vesti has not raced in a single-seater series since
finishing runner-up in F2 back in 2023, with his most recent
competitive appearances having come in the IMSA SportsCar
Championship. The 23-year-old is racing for Cadillac Whelan in the
GTP class, but also featured for the American manufacturer in the
recent Le Mans 24 Hours. "I'm extremely happy and proud to be
participating in the Rookie Test," said Vesti. "I did the one-day
test last year and had a good experience in the Formula E car, but
this time around with a bit more experience and with a great team
such as Andretti behind me, it's going to be a really exciting day
for me to explore the all new GEN3 Evo, work with engineers and of
course, learn from the team. Hopefully, I can also contribute to
some of the team's different test items throughout the day."
