There is considerable intrigue surrounding Lewis Hamilton and an
expected announcement from the seven-time F1 drivers' champion. On
28 July, the Ferrari driver shared a post which earmarked 8 August,
today's date, for a reveal of some kind. However, the cryptic post
gave little away and set the rumour mill into overdrive, something
that was exacerbated by his torrid weekend just days later at the
Hungarian Grand Prix. On Thursday, he spoke of expecting some
"tears" over the summer break as he resets and rests after an
underwhelming first half season with the Scuderia. But, critically,
he expressed his love for racing and for his new team. The British
driver, who has claimed nine pole positions at the Hungaroring,
endured his worst qualifying session at the circuit on the
outskirts of Budapest, getting knocked out in Q2, consigned to
start the race from P12. It led him to label himself "useless,
absolutely, useless" and suggest Ferrari needed to "change driver",
with team-mate Charles Leclerc showcasing the pace of the SF-25 by
securing pole. Even though he walked back his remarks slightly
after a fruitless drive to P12 on Sunday, speculation he might look
to retire from F1 - or leave Ferrari - have persisted over the past
few days. This has been joined by numerous notable names from the
world of motorsport saying now is the time for him to walk away.
Either way, it has led to predictions that his impending
announcement is for one of those two options, regardless of how
much of a long shot that might be. However, in reality, it is
likely related to a brand that partners with him, specifically,
Almave, which is a "premium non-alcoholic blue agave spirit" and
seeks to emulate the flavours and experience of tequila. The
company was co-founded by Hamilton, and its welcome post on
Instagram, which is 93 weeks old and pinned, includes the 105-time
grand prix winner. Further still, on 7 August, the brand put up a
new post with today's date, following on from a prior post that
indicated it would be releasing a new flavour soon. Check out
Hamilton's original post below, and Almave's latest post can he
