Andretti signs 2022 F2 champion Felipe Drugovich on a multi-year deal
Felipe Drugovich will make a full-time return to single-seaters with Andretti for the 2025/26 Formula E season, partnering 2023 world champion Jake Dennis. The Brazilian replaces the Porsche-bound Nico Müller and joins on a multi-year contract.
Background and trajectory
Since winning the 2022 Formula 2 title, Drugovich has served as Aston Martin’s F1 test and reserve driver, with occasional FP1 outings, while keeping sharp through endurance appearances across WEC, IMSA and ELMS. He has also been on Formula E’s radar, testing with Maserati and making an impressive stand-in debut for Mahindra at the Berlin E‑Prix, where he scored points with a P7 finish.
Driver’s reaction
“I’m so happy to announce that I’ll be joining Andretti Formula E, and I’m really excited about what’s ahead… It’s been far too long for me without racing, so I’m incredibly motivated to get back on a racetrack. It means a lot to know I’ll be competing in every session and not just serving as a reserve… I’m focused, motivated and excited for the future, and I know that Andretti has all the tools in place for me to achieve success.”
Team view and implications
“Felipe is a driver who has been on our radar for some time… He’s a fast and intelligent driver who has already demonstrated he can quickly adapt to the demands of the Championship, as we saw during his debut in Berlin. We would also like to thank Aston Martin Aramco F1 Team for their support in allowing Felipe to fully commit to this exciting new chapter in Formula E with Andretti Global.” — Roger Griffiths, Team Principal
Andretti has acknowledged Aston Martin’s support in facilitating Drugovich’s commitment. Mirror Sport reports he is set to be released from his F1 reserve responsibilities, underscoring the scale of his new programme as Formula E moves towards the Gen4 era.
