Lawson praises new Racing Bulls boss Alan Permane: “Very good at pushing the team”
Liam Lawson has given a strong endorsement of Racing Bulls’ new team principal, Alan Permane, highlighting his technical approach and impact on performance since stepping into the role in July.
Continuity after leadership changes
Permane was promoted to replace Laurent Mekies, who moved to Red Bull to replace the sacked Christian Horner. A stalwart of the sport, Permane previously served as sporting director and chief race engineer at Alpine and its Enstone predecessors, with experience stretching back to the Benetton days.
Lawson on Permane’s method
Lawson underlined the continuity in working methods between Mekies and Permane. He noted that both come from engineering backgrounds, are “very, very smart”, and excel at pushing the team on the technical side to deliver a quick car. According to Lawson, that emphasis has been a hallmark this year and has continued through recent races with Permane at the helm.
“They’re a very strong team together,” Lawson explained, pointing to a consistent procedure and process that’s helping maintain competitiveness.
