Continuity after a learning year
Lola Yamaha ABT will field an unchanged Formula E line-up for Season 12, retaining veteran Lucas di Grassi alongside rookie graduate Zane Maloney. The British manufacturer re-entered the all-electric series in the Gen3 Evo era and opted for stability after a demanding debut campaign.
“Invaluable” pairing
Motorsport director Mark Preston praised the mix of youth and experience as “invaluable,” highlighting how di Grassi’s know-how accelerated Lola’s learning curve while Maloney absorbed the complexities of the category. The team made tangible progress toward the midfield late in the season, headlined by di Grassi’s shock podium in Miami and a 32-point haul.
Voices from the garage
Di Grassi: “Our first season was very positive with a podium in Miami and 32 points scored… The long-term view and dedication of Lola, Yamaha and ABT gives me so much motivation.”
Maloney: “Last year was mine and the team’s rookie season and I think we developed very well… It’s going to be a tough year but the more we keep working hard and making progress with the car, while I continue to improve, the better we can do.”
Eyes on Gen4
While pushing for results in Season 12, Lola will also begin Gen4 development later this year, with Maloney supporting testing as the team positions itself to climb the order in the next regulatory cycle.
