Isack Hadjar is edging toward a future promotion to Red Bull, paddock sources indicate, raising pressing questions about Yuki Tsunoda’s options beyond 2025. The Japanese driver was moved into the senior team earlier this year but has struggled to convert the opportunity: since his promotion, he has scored just nine points and sits 19th in the standings, ahead of only Franco Colapinto and Jack Doohan.

Red Bull’s second seat has long been a riddle, and 2025 hasn’t softened the headache. Liam Lawson and Tsunoda have both had turns next to Max Verstappen without fully cementing the role. With Hadjar’s stock rising, the next three races are seen as critical for Tsunoda to reset his trajectory.

Paths on the table

Several scenarios remain possible: Tsunoda could fight to keep his place, pivot back to Racing Bulls to lead that project, or explore a move elsewhere on the grid. The immediate task, however, is simple and brutal: deliver points and consistency now. Red Bull’s decision-making will follow the numbers.
