Liam Lawson makes Racing Bulls vow after 'horrendous' feeling

Liam Lawson is sure that his season "will click eventually" after being left with "horrendous" car damage in the Miami GP. Lawson and Jack Doohan made contact at Turn 1 of the Miami GP, with Doohan out on the spot, as Racing Bulls driver Lawson continued, but eventually retired with severe floor and sidepod damage on Lap 36. Although he remains point-less, Miami was one of Lawson's strongest weekends, which included finishing in the points on the road in the Sprint race - although a penalty for colliding with Fernando Alonso cost him the haul with a five-second time penalty. Reflecting on the situation of still being point-less, the Kiwi was rather optimistic as F1 prepares to head to Europe for the summer leg of the season. "It was pretty horrendous," Lawson explained to media including RacingNews365 , of his feelings with the car after the collision. "It is a shame for the guys, they've done a good job and the car has been fast, and that is how we have to be in the sport. "We have to keep working forwards, keep improving, and our approach to the weekend was really good, so it'll click eventually. "These [last few] tracks have felt pretty good, and I felt going into qualifying, but we had the engine issue, and I felt good at the start of the race."
