Sergio Pérez thrills Dodgers fans and confirms first Cadillac F1 test plans
On a starry night at Dodger Stadium, Cadillac F1’s Sergio Pérez took the mound for a ceremonial first pitch — and used the Los Angeles stop to outline his next steps ahead of the team’s 2026 debut.
Pérez revealed he will split time between the United States and England in the coming days as preparations ramp up, including simulator work and a return to F1 machinery to rebuild neck strength. “Next week I will be in Charlotte and in England,” he said. “For me, it’s important to drive this year, especially for the neck, so that my body adapts again to what’s going to happen in 2026. I will train in the simulator and there are plans for me to test an F1 car.”
First running and the road to 2026
Pérez’s initial on-track programme is anticipated to utilize an older Ferrari F1 car, with Cadillac expected to align as a customer of the Italian manufacturer. Specific dates remain under wraps. He will partner Valtteri Bottas as the duo brings more than 500 GP starts of experience to the grid for the new entrant.
For fans in LA, it was a rare crossover moment — a taste of F1 showmanship in baseball’s cathedral — and a signal that Cadillac’s long runway to 2026 is gathering speed.
