Magny-Cours WorldSBK Superpole Race Results | Razgatlioglu does the double, pressure rises on Bautista

Toprak Razgatlioglu has closed in on Alvaro Bautista once again as he battles for victory in the Superpole Race at Magny-Cours.

After a ten lap dash the Turkish rider takes his second victory of the weekend at Magny-Cours. The 2021 WorldSBK Champion was clearly up for a scrap this morning as the gloves came off in the Superpole Race.

Razgatlioglu was not going to let the Ducati riders get away from him in the Superpole Race as he disrupted their rhythm whenever he could.

However, during the battle between Razgatlioglu, Alvaro Bautista and Michael Ruben Rinaldi the Italian rider was collected by Bautista and ended up on the floor. Despite damage to the front of his bike the reigning WorldSBK Champion managed to finish runner up to Razgatlioglu.

Jonathan Rea was third for the second time this weekend as his Kawasaki struggled to match the pace of the Ducati and the Yamaha.

Locatelli and Petrucci are creating rivalry of their own this weekend as the two Italians scrapped it out for fourth place behind the six-time WorldSBK Champion. As they crossed the line it was Locatelli who won their dual with the Ducati rider finishing just behind in fifth.

Dominique Aegerter and Loris Baz battled hard at the end of the race as the two satellite riders fought for sixth. The Swiss rider just got the better of the home hero on the last lap and the two-time WorldSSP Champion crossed the line in sixth place.

Axel Bassani finished as the third Ducati in the race as he crossed the line in eighth place. Which was a decent result for the Italian after a difficult weekend due to issues after a crash on Friday.

Rounding out the points in the Superpole Race was the Team HRC rider, Xavi Vierge. The Spanish rider was using Honda's new WorldSBK frame and got the better of his team-mate who was on the old frame.

British rider Bradley Ray finished 15th place after a decent result this morning in the Warm Up session. Scott Redding also only finished 20th after he cleared out Garrett Gerloff earlier on in the race and got a Long Lap Penalty for his actions. However, Alex Lowes did not finish the race after what looked like a mechanical issue.
