Lewis Hamilton has agreed with claims that being at Ferrari leads
to more 'crisis' articles being written as he continues to settle
in. Hamilton has struggled at times through his first four races
with the Scuderia, with the seven-time champion being particularly
downbeat following qualifying only ninth in Bahrain whilst
team-mate Charles Leclerc was third on the road, but started second
after a grid penalty for George Russell. Hamilton recovered to
fifth in Sakhir for his best grand prix finish for the team, and
was more upbeat after the result. Speaking ahead of the Saudi
Arabian Grand Prix, Hamilton explained that because of Ferrari's
history in F1 would mean there are "more clicks and stories"
written about the team. "Yes," Hamilton began when asked by media,
including RacingNews365 , if being at Ferrari amplified people
trying to make a 'crisis' out of situations. "I mean, on one side,
it is to be expected, it is the greatest team in Formula 1 history,
and it is special, so of course there are going to be more clicks,
more stories written about it, and people have opinions. "It has
not always been smooth-sailing, so from my perspective you can't
work with a team and make changes overnight. "We've really spent
time getting to know each other and there are changes in the
short-term that we will do together to keep all the greatness and
keep building the areas that we could be stronger in. "Some are
short-term and some are long-term, but there are so many great
things within this team and so we want to harness the energy and
passion within the team. "We also have to protect the team because
there is more spotlight on this team than any other team.
"Everyone in this team really has their hearts in it, they were
riding the roller-coaster ride up and down together, and I have no
doubt that we will get to where we plan to be, it is just going to
take time."
