Oscar Piastri is under investigation for a potential safety car infringement at the British Grand Prix, whilst Max Verstappen plummeted down the order after spinning just before the safety car restart. The Australian, who is leading at Silverstone, put the brakes on going down the Hangar Straight before the safety car restart on Lap 24, seemingly in an attempt to catch out Verstappen in second. The Red Bull ended up going into the lead due to Piastri's actions. When the field was released, the Dutchman spun, falling down to P10. It appears Piastri was trying to make Verstappen lose tyre temperature, something that could have induced his spin. The stewards have awarded Piastri, who is four seconds ahead of team-mate Lando Norris, a 10-second time penalty. Zak Brown has confirmed McLaren is looking into appealing the decision.
