Ford Australia is now holding select Ranger and Everest variants in stock and ready to go for customers after long wait times in recent years.

In-demand diesel V6 versions of the 2024 Ford Ranger and Everest are now in stock available for immediate delivery after improved production has helped clear back-orders.

A Ford Australia spokesperson told Drive that Wildtrak, Sport, and XLT variants of the Ranger ute are readily in stock in 3.0-litre turbo-diesel V6 and 2.0-litre bi-turbo diesel four-cylinder forms, the latter available in greater numbers.

As for the Everest, Trend and Ambiente grades in 4×4 guises, and the Sport 4×2, fitted with the 2.0-litre engine are in stock – however V6-powered variants remain more scarce.

The Ford representative said some versions of the Ranger XL, as well as the Ranger Platinum, are harder to find, and that customers after these particular grades could still incur a wait time.

Availability of the hot-selling twin-turbo petrol V6-powered Ranger Raptor has also improved since the latest model launched in 2022, so Ford advises potential customers to contact their nearest dealership, or to use Ford’s online stock locator tool for more information.

Last year, Ford Australia took out a three-year exclusive lease on a ship to expedite shipments of the Ranger and Everest after wait times for some grades blew out to 12 months.

In May 2024, the Ford Ranger is priced from $36,880 to $89,190 plus on-road costs, while the Everest is priced from $53,990 to $79,490 plus on-road costs. Price rises are expected to come into force next month.

Last year, the Ford Ranger was Australia's top-selling vehicle – with 63,356 sales reported – while the Everest notched up a tally of 15,071 deliveries for second place in the large SUV sales category.

The boosted stock of the Ranger is already assisting sales, as over the first three months of 2024, deliveries are up 14.8 per cent year-on-year to 15,761 sales.

It is well ahead of the Toyota HiLux (12,490 sales), its long-time rival that was the top-selling vehicle for the seven years prior to 2023.

The Everest meanwhile, is up a significant 51.6 per cent to the end of March to 4499 sales – enough to lead the segment ahead of the in-run-out Toyota Prado and recently-revised Isuzu MU-X.
