We’re not sure if the driver of this $6 million supercar is brave or silly, but they are seen to hesitate before accelerating their one-of-99 Pagani through a flood in the UAE.

A Pagani Utopia supercar – limited to 99 examples, priced from about $AU6 million each – has been filmed driving through floodwater in Dubai earlier this month.

The footage – uploaded to YouTube – shows the driver stop in the middle of the road, seemingly hesitating and considering the consequences of what they’re about to do, before the car starts to move through the water, following a white Nissan Patrol SUV.

"What's impressive here isn't the car driving through a bit of water, but rather the owner having the [guts] to drive something so expensive through water knowing the potential risks," one YouTube commenter wrote.

Others online seemingly had no issue with this driver risking their rare car in floodwater. "At least it's not chilling in the garage forever,” another commenter said.

Only 99 Utopias will be built, as the successor to the Zonda and Huayra hypercars.

The standard version of the Utopia costs approximately $AU4.27 million before bespoke customisation and on-road costs – with Australian prices understood to start from about $6.5 million once local taxes are added.

The Pagani Utopia is powered by a 6.0-litre twin-turbo Mercedes-AMG V12 engine, capable of 635kW and 1100Nm, matched with a six-speed manual transmission.
