In the weeks following the unexpected announcement of Lewis Hamilton’s signing by Scuderia Ferrari for the 2025-2026 biennium, the parties involved have preferred to avoid further comments, to focus on the current Formula 1 season.

In these early weeks of the world championship, both Frederic Vasseur and Lewis Hamilton have dismissed any questions about their decision to join forces next year, sometimes responding a bit irritably to the persistence of journalists.

Surprise statement
In a long interview given to Radio France last April 14th, Fred Vasseur made an exception: “The arrival of Lewis Hamilton is important for the team. Besides speed, he brings calm, experience, and his track record to the team. He has a winning experience that we need at Ferrari to continue to improve.” – the French manager pointed out.

The team principal is very confident about the coexistence with Charles Leclerc: “I’m also very happy because I’m convinced that the two will get along. And this will help Charles as a driver: we’re not just talking about performance in the car, in qualifying or in the race. It’s about 365 days a year and in this, I believe Lewis is an absolute master,” Frederic Vasseur concluded.

Benedetto Vigna, speaking as a guest at ClassNBC’s Sustainable Future Forum, also has no doubts about the benefits that Lewis Hamilton will bring to the team in 2025: “Lewis will bring to us what is written in our DNA, what our founder has said repeatedly: a will for continuous progress which is essential for a company, a team, to remain successful in the future.” – he explained.

“For the Ferrari company, having a racing soul within it is fundamental. When things are going well within a company, people forget that things can change. Having people like Lewis in the house helps us remember that things can change and that we must always be vigilant. If you enter a curve too fast, you can go off track, so it’s important to keep all four wheels firmly on the ground.” – the Ferrari chief executive officer concluded.
